Today, we stand together—not just to celebrate girls, but to honor their strength, their courage, and their unstoppable spirit.

The theme for this year, “The girl I am, the change I lead,” is more than a phrase. It is a truth we see every day in our communities. From the streets of Port Harcourt to the classrooms of Lagos, girls are rising. They are leading. They are transforming crisis into opportunity.

At Let’s Give Them Hope Empowerment Foundation, we have witnessed this firsthand. We’ve seen young girls who survived hardship become mentors to others. We’ve seen girls who were once denied education now teaching their peers. We’ve seen leadership born not from privilege, but from perseverance.

But we also know the road is long. Too many girls still face violence, poverty, and exclusion. Too many are told they are too young, too weak, too small. And yet—they rise.

They rise with books in their hands and dreams in their hearts.

They rise with voices that demand justice and futures that defy limits.

They rise not in silence, but in strength.

So today, we call on everyone—parents, leaders, educators, and allies—to stand with our girls.
